Our office will be closed for BC Day on August 7th. It is a statutory holiday observed in the province of British Columbia. This day is also celebrated by other provinces as Civic/Provincial Day. It is celebrated on the first Monday in the month of August.
The first British Columbia day Act was introduced in 1974. The main aim of this statutory holiday was to pay respect to the forerunners of the land. This day is of immense importance to celebrate the local culture, history and development throughout the years. After the tributes on Monday, we will reopen on Tuesday, August 8th.
Our Head Office will be closed on Monday, July 3rd, as we celebrate Canada Day.

A question commonly asked is what are the effects of icemelt on concrete?
Icemelters which contain aluminum chloride, ammonium sulfate, calcium sulfate, magnesium chloride (MAG), ammonium nitrate, ammonium chloride, magnesium sulfate or sodium cyanide, will attack concrete and are best avoided. Additionally chemicals like calcium chloride will shorten the natural freeze/thaw cycle in concrete, greatly increasing the risk of scaling and flaking damage. Using an icemelter like GroundWorks Natural Icemelter™, keeps the melted ice in a liquid state for a much longer period of time and thereby extends the freeze/thaw cycle reducing the risk of scaling and flaking damage. Additionally GroundWorks Natural Icemelter™ contains no chemicals which would affect the concrete in any way.
For more information on the effects of icemelt on concrete please refer to the Icemelter & Concrete article in the Icemelter resource center on www.XYNYTH.com.
Our Head Office will be closed on Monday, February 13th for BC Family Day.
Family Day was originally created to give people time to spend with their families but it also provides a day off between New Year’s Day and Good Friday as they are approximately three months apart. Family Day is not a National Statutory Holiday, it is only observed in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and in British Columbia. Family Day is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February except in BC where it’s the 2nd Monday of February.
Common Family Day activities include skating, playing hockey, snowboarding, skiing and going to various winter festivals.
As many of you already know we were hit by an extended period of snow and ice on the West Coast of Canada.
During this time many of our competitors failed to keep up with the demand, which resulted in lead times ranging in the weeks and sometimes months.
However, we were able to ensure all of our customers received their icemelter and were also able to secure many new customers as well. You can be rest assured that all our warehouses will remain well stocked throughout the winter, no matter the weather conditions.
