According to the Daily Hive, the City of Vancouver prepares for weekend snow with 100 snow and ice vehicles and 3,000 tonnes of salt, the City of Vancouver says it is prepared for the snow and colder temperatures expected this weekend.
According to Environment Canada, up to 5 cm of snowfall is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
The city says crews are monitoring weather reports and a “response plan is underway” with key routes including major roads, bus routes, bridges and the 15 most-used pathways and bike routes currently being treated for ice and snow.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, if you like snow, then you should head out to western Quebec and Ontario, where snowier-than-normal conditions are forecast. In addition, above-normal snow is expected over the interior of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
They have marked the second week of January over Ontario and Quebec for a possible heavy snowfall with a wintry mix for the Maritimes, and another for the second week of February for possible blizzard conditions in the Maritimes. In the final week of March, much of the eastern half of the country looks stormy, with a significant late-season snowfall blowing into Ontario and Quebec on through the Maritimes.
As per the Old Farmer’s Almanac, uncommonly chilly temperatures are predicted mostly for the western states and northeastern New England. Specifically, winter will be colder than normal in Maine; the Intermountain, Desert Southwest, and Pacific Southwest regions.
Snowfall will be greater than normal in the Northeast, Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, the High Plains, and northern Alaska.
2020 has been a year like no other in the lives of everyone living today. It is a year, I would venture to say, that most people want to see an end. A year to put behind us. While many people and businesses have suffered, the events of this past year have reminded us all of what is truly important in our lives – People. Keeping in touch and being kind.
